Nearing the Finish Line at Canterbury University

Multi-stage fit-out projects have a particular rhythm. The early phases are about establishing systems and solving the structural challenges. The middle phases are the long grind of consistent execution. And the final phase — the one that feels most like nearing the finish line — is when the space starts to look like what it was always meant to be.

This Canterbury University project is in that final phase, and it looks genuinely excellent.

What the Project Involved

The Canterbury University fit-out spanned multiple spaces across the campus — collaborative learning zones, breakout areas, staff spaces, and specialist technical environments. Each required a different specification approach while contributing to a cohesive overall campus furniture system.

The colour palette has been a particular highlight. Rather than defaulting to a neutral institutional scheme, the specification incorporated deliberate colour choices that gave different areas distinct identities while remaining part of the same visual family. The result is a campus that feels alive and intentional rather than generic.
