Indigenous Engagement & Partnerships
At Bishop Interiors, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout New Zealand and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters, and culture. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.
We are committed to supporting Indigenous businesses, communities, and cultural representation through the partners we work with and the solutions we deliver. Our approach focuses on economic participation, ethical collaboration, and meaningful inclusion within the commercial furniture and built environment sectors.

Our Commitment
We actively seek to align with organisations that:
- Support Indigenous employment and skills development
- Promote ethical sourcing and cultural integrity
- Contribute to long-term economic empowerment
- Enable authentic representation of First Nations design in the built environment
Through these partnerships, we aim to deliver projects that are not only functional, but also socially responsible and culturally respectful.
Indigenous Partnerships
YINDI Manufacturing
We are proud to work with YINDI Manufacturing, a majority Indigenous-owned Australian business delivering high-quality office furniture while creating meaningful social impact.
YINDI is committed to economic empowerment within Indigenous communities, supporting:
- Job creation and long-term employment pathways
- Skills development and training
- Growth of Indigenous-owned manufacturing capability
Their approach combines modern manufacturing with Indigenous values, creating furniture that reflects cultural identity, sustainability, and innovation.
YINDI’s work demonstrates how commercial manufacturing can contribute to stronger communities, greater inclusion, and long-term economic sustainability.
Willie Weston (by Autex Acoustics)
Through our partnership with Autex Acoustics, we support the integration of First Nations design through Willie Weston, a profit-for-purpose organisation working directly with Indigenous artists.
Willie Weston ensures:
- Artists are fairly compensated for their work
- Designs are used with cultural integrity and respect
- Projects align with the principles of the Indigenous Art Code
This collaboration enables clients to incorporate authentic First Nations design into their spaces, while also meeting functional requirements such as acoustic performance.
Each design reflects the stories, culture, and identity of the artists and their communities, creating spaces that are both meaningful and functional.
Our Approach in Practice
Bishop Interiors supports Indigenous engagement by:
- Partnering with Indigenous-owned and aligned suppliers
- Recommending products that incorporate authentic First Nations design
- Supporting clients to meet social procurement and Indigenous participation goals
- Ensuring ethical sourcing and transparency across our supply chain
Our Commitment to the Future
We recognise that meaningful engagement requires ongoing learning, partnership, and accountability. Bishop Interiors is committed to strengthening our relationships with Indigenous businesses and continuing to support inclusive, culturally respectful outcomes across all projects.
