When a Project Comes Together Perfectly
Some projects stand out not because of their scale, but because of the quality of the collaboration that makes them possible. This is one of those. Laura — our Key Accounts and Project Specialist — has an exceptional eye for how textiles and colour can be used together to create spaces that feel genuinely curated, not just furnished.
The Project
The brief was ambitious in the best way: a client who had a clear vision for how their space should feel, and the confidence to specify bold material and colour choices to get there. Laura worked closely with them through the specification process — pulling together fabric samples, coordinating finishes across different furniture categories, and ensuring that every piece in the final installation contributed to a coherent aesthetic rather than simply existing in the same room as the others.
The Power of Textiles
In commercial furniture specification, textiles are often an afterthought — a fabric choice made late in the process from a sample book, with limited consideration of how it will interact with everything else in the room. Laura's approach is the opposite. Fabric and upholstery choices are made early, alongside colour decisions and finish selections, because they have a disproportionate impact on how the finished space looks and feels.
A well-chosen fabric can make a modest chair feel premium. A poorly chosen one can undermine a beautiful piece of furniture. Getting it right is a skill that comes from experience, and it's one of the things that sets Bishop Interiors apart.
