The Challenge

Sherpa Insurance Brokers needed a workplace that balanced professionalism with approachability—moving away from a traditional, corporate insurance office toward a more contemporary, people-focused environment. The space had to support focused work, collaboration, and client interaction, while managing acoustics in an open-plan setting and creating a cohesive identity across multiple zones.

There was also a need to maximise natural light, integrate meeting spaces without disrupting workflow, and provide staff with areas for both concentration and informal connection.

The Solution

A warm, material-led design approach was used to bring consistency and character throughout the space. Timber finishes and soft, neutral furnishings create a grounded, welcoming base, complemented by deeper tones—greens, rusts, and charcoals—to define different zones.

Open-plan workstations are paired with acoustic desk screens and ceiling treatments to manage noise without closing off the space. Integrated booth seating and breakout areas provide flexible zones for informal meetings and team interaction, while dedicated meeting rooms and quiet pods offer privacy when needed.

Feature lighting elements introduce rhythm and visual interest overhead, while large windows and glazed areas ensure natural light flows deep into the workspace. Furniture selections prioritise comfort and adaptability, supporting a range of working styles throughout the day.

The Outcome

The result is a modern, cohesive workplace that reflects Sherpa’s brand—professional yet approachable. Staff benefit from a variety of work settings that support both productivity and wellbeing, while clients are welcomed into a space that feels considered and inviting rather than transactional.
