This project showcases how a carefully considered workplace system can be rolled out across multiple locations without losing impact, quality, or identity. By embedding acoustic performance into the core of the design—through screens, wall finishes, and spatial planning—the spaces actively support the way people work, not just how they look. The consistency of furniture, materials, and layout creates familiarity for teams across Christchurch, Auckland, Brisbane, and Melbourne, while still allowing each site to feel purposeful and efficient. It’s a workplace approach built on clarity and repeatability—streamlined, adaptable, and designed to evolve—proving that scalable design doesn’t have to be generic, it can be both practical and refined at every level.

The Challenge

Delivering a cohesive workplace experience across multiple cities required a solution that could be consistently applied while responding to different floorplates and team needs. The environments needed to support focused work, collaboration, and day-to-day operational efficiency—often within open-plan settings where noise and distraction can impact productivity. Balancing standardisation with flexibility, while maintaining a strong visual identity across all locations, was key.

The Solution

A unified workspace strategy was implemented across all sites, centred on clean, efficient workstations and integrated acoustic solutions. Desk systems were paired with fabric acoustic screens to provide both visual privacy and sound absorption, helping to reduce noise in open-plan areas. Quiet rooms and enclosed pods feature acoustic wall finishes and soft material palettes, creating spaces for focused work and private conversations. A consistent use of neutral tones, paired with subtle brand-aligned colours, ensures continuity across locations while maintaining a calm, professional environment. Supporting elements such as breakout areas, touchdown spaces, and simple, durable furniture enhance usability and flexibility.

The Outcome

The result is a highly functional and scalable workplace model that performs consistently across all four locations. Staff benefit from improved acoustic comfort, better focus, and a clear variety of work settings to suit different tasks. The cohesive design language reinforces Kiwicare’s identity while allowing each space to operate efficiently within its own footprint. The rollout demonstrates how thoughtful planning and standardised solutions can deliver both consistency and quality at scale.
