The Challenge

Gill Landscapes required a workspace that reflected their identity—grounded, natural, and practical—while still functioning as a professional environment for meetings and day-to-day operations.

The challenge was balancing durability with warmth. Hardwearing materials were essential, but risked creating a space that felt cold or overly utilitarian. At the same time, the interiors needed to subtly reference the company’s connection to landscape, without becoming literal or themed.

The question became: how do we create a robust, low-maintenance space that still feels calm, tactile, and connected to nature?

The Solution

We approached the project with a focus on material honesty, texture, and restrained palette.

• Textured wall lining as a backdrop
• Vertical green-toned wall panels introduce rhythm and softness, bringing in a subtle landscape reference while also improving acoustic comfort.
• Durable, grounded flooring
• Polished concrete floors provide a robust, low-maintenance surface suited to high traffic, anchoring the space with a natural, earthy tone.
• Timber as a warm counterpoint
• Custom joinery and furniture elements—particularly the central meeting table and shelving—introduce warmth and tactility, balancing the harder finishes.
• Layered, functional furniture
• Upholstered seating in muted greens reinforces the natural palette, while maintaining comfort for longer meetings and everyday use.
• Softening through planting and styling
• Integrated shelving with greenery adds life and depth, reinforcing the landscape connection in a controlled, architectural way.

The Outcome
